Softrise

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Softrise is a personal journal for people living with POTS and other conditions that make standing up hard. It was built so that your entries stay yours.

What we collect

Nothing. Softrise has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect, see, sell or share any of your information. Softrise does not use artificial intelligence to analyse your entries.

Where your entries are kept

No account. Your entries stay on your phone and in your own iCloud.

Heart rate

Softrise does not read heart rate from your Apple Watch, the Health app or any sensor. It only stores the numbers you type in yourself.

Doctor reports

Doctor reports (PDF files) are created on your iPhone. They are only shared when you choose to share them, for example by email or AirDrop.

Notifications

The daily reminder and the stand test notifications are scheduled on your iPhone. Stand test notifications say it is time to note your heart rate; they may be visible on your lock screen. You can turn notifications off at any time in iPhone Settings › Notifications › Softrise.

Feedback

If you choose "Send feedback", your email app opens with our address and the app version in the subject. Nothing else is added. We only receive what you decide to write and send.

Purchases

Softrise Plus is purchased through Apple. Apple handles payment; we never receive your payment details.

Children

Softrise is meant for adults. A teenager may use it together with a parent or caregiver. Softrise is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

In Softrise › Settings › Delete all my data, you can remove all your entries. If iCloud is on, they are removed from your iCloud copy too. Deleting the app removes everything from your iPhone. To remove an iCloud copy left behind, go to iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage › Softrise › Delete Data.

Not medical advice

Softrise is a journal. It does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice. Please talk to your doctor about your health and before doing a stand test at home.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
